Types of Massages

On this page you can read about the different types of massages I offer. Which one you take depends on your needs and can differ every time. You don’t have to stick with the same massage each visit.

Zen Massage

In the Zen massage I use a mixture of techniques that can be found in the Relax, Samudra en Swedish massages. In the ZEN massage, the main aim still is to get you relaxed, but I will use some harder kneeding and manipulation techniques to get your muscles back in shape. It will not only get you relaxed, but the relief of tension in the muscles will give you so much more benefits. For back and shoulder pains, this massage is great as well as this zone will get a lot of attention. For more information on the general positive effects of massage, you can check this page. The Zen Massage is the most “complete” package. I combine the best elements of the different massages into one great relaxing and healing massage. This Zen Massage has been seen by many clients as one of the best they ever got. Apart from the back and shoulder zone this massage will also deal with upper and lower legs, feet, neckline, arms, hands, face and head. Since we have a small introduction conversation the first time you visit me, you are free to choose which parts of the body you think need less or more attention.

Relax Massage

The relax massage is basically given by doing soft touches and strokes over the complete body. These movements and strokes can vary in pressure and speed but remain soft. You can be sure of a painless experience. When I find problem points I can tell you afterwards, but when you have choosen a relax massage I will not treat these as this is not the purpose of a relax massage. It will get your body and mind (which is as imporant) fully relaxed and have a lot of benefial effects on nerve system and circularity system. People who suffer from stress or burn-outs can improve their problem drastically with this massage. To really loose tension on muscles or heal back-or shoulder pains (or other muscle pains) you can better choose other massages that I offer.

Sport Massage

Fitness, workouts, biking.. sports burden your muscles. A sport massage will bring your muscles back in shapes by various proven techniques. A sport massage will treat those muscles that are needed for your sport. I cannot do the complete body, but only a selected number of muscle groups. For example either the back or the legs/arms. The massage will get your muscles warmed up, and the blood flow will improve greatly. A good example are bikers who can have their legs and calves massaged, swimmers who can have their arms and back muscles treated. Or fitness and workout sporters who can have the muscles that they will use that day in their workout be warmed up and massaged before or after their workout. The massage will take 40 minutes.

Samudra Massage

The Samudra massage, unlike the relax -or zenmassage, will see the body as one whole part. With a traditional massage we will take care of the body parts one by one. First the back, shoulder, then the left leg etc. The Samudra massage will often get the whole body in a movement. I will go back and forth between top to bottom often in long, deep strokes using mainly the forearm. This makes a great difference in the “feel” of the massage. You can see the Samudra massage as a “deep relaxation” massage. It will move the muscles deep into the tissue but the long strokes over the whole body will make it feel very relaxing as well.

A Samudra massage will do wonders for people with stress, trauma’s, burn-outs, but it will release muscle tension as well due to the deep long strokes.

Because I often go from top to bottom around the complete body it would be very inconvenient to have a towel on top of you. So this massage is done without a towel. Also, a special cover is placed on the table so I can “glide” also under the body as well as over it. To keep you warm, there is a large infrared plate mounted on the ceiling above the table. This plate will constantly send warm waves of air on your body. This massage will deal with the whole body including back, shoulders, legs, glutes, groin and belly area. I have followed a course specifically for this massage in 2017.

This massage can now also be booked in 90 minutes with extra attention to legs, feet, groin and belly area and will end with a nice head/face massage.

Therapeutic Massage for shoulder-, back- en Neckpains

Shoulder pains, pain in the upper or lower back, stiff neck muscles… a lot of people experience these kind of pains these days due to the way we all live and work. A lot of people have a desk job, or drive a car or have a job that is heavy on the back like nursing staff, cleaning helpers, builders… Or you experience so much stress that this will literally block your back and/or shoulder muscles. Leaving it like that, without loosen the muscles from time to time can give a lot of problems and pain complaints. Because I have so many clients with problems in that area I have decided to follow a course that focused specifically on this area of the body with techniques to losen muscle and pressure points in order to relief the tension and deal with the pain. This massage is shorter and cheaper than a full body, only 40 minutes. It will only focus on this area. I have booked many great results with former clients. I will in no way present myself as a physiotherapist. For structural issues you still are best advised to visit a doctor. But for the painfull discomforts as a result of your day to day activities, this massage will certainly help a lot.
